Amenities

We offer bed loft rentals designed to fit a variety of room configurations and sizes. Please note that bed lofts are not compatible with every room:

• Heritage Community (Pyon-Chen Hall and Johnson-Whittle Hall): Bedlofts are available only in flex double rooms.
• Not compatible: Houses 3, House 5, House 7, House 9, House 10 on Fraternity Row, Oakland Hall and Prince Frederick Hall. 
• Triple rooms: A Bedloft is already installed before move-in, so no rental is necessary.

Important Information:

• For safety reasons, students are not permitted to construct their own lofts.
• Triple rooms are equipped with a bunk bed and metal bed loft with safety rail, provided at no cost by Residential Facilities.
• University furnishings must remain in their assigned rooms, suites, or apartments and cannot be relocated or stored by our staff.
• Students who order after the early bird deadline are responsible for coordinating installation with Bedloft and providing room access during the scheduled appointment.
• If students are reassigned or no longer need their rented bed loft, they are responsible for contacting Bedloft and coordinating access for relocation or removal of the equipment.
• The early bird order deadline for installation prior to move-in is August 9, 2026.

Students can rent a fridge-microwave combo unit, digital safe or air purifier  for their residence hall room through our approved vendor, GoBreez.com. Rentals are available by semester or academic year. For more details, visit the GoBreez rental website.

Important Information:

• Cooking is prohibited in all student bedrooms for fire safety and health reasons, except in Prince Frederick, Oakland, Johnson-Whittle, and Pyon-Chen, which support microwaves.
• An exception is the university-approved microwave available with the MicroFridge SmokeSensor combination unit for rent.
• If students are reassigned and would like to move their rental to a new room, or no longer need their rental, they must submit a request through their Breez online customer account.

Follow these guidelines for a comfortable and safe living environment while adhering to university policies.

Laundry machines are available in all residence hall communities. In larger traditional residence halls, machines are typically found on the ground floor or residential floors. In smaller halls, machines may be shared among multiple buildings. South Hill and Leonardtown have centralized laundry rooms for their communities. Machine fees are covered by your housing fees. Students need to bring their own laundry detergent. 

Machines are serviced by CSC Service Works. Report any laundry issues using the CSC Go Mobile App, by calling 877-264-6622, or emailing customerservice@cscsw.com.

Cable TV Streaming

Students living in on-campus residence halls, fraternity and sorority chapter houses, University Courtyards, and South Campus Commons have access to Xfinity On Campus streaming via a smart TV or computer. Visit the Xfinity On Campus website and use your University credentials to log in and learn more.

Internet

Students can access the Internet in their rooms using an ethernet cable or connect over the campus Wi-Fi. Learn more about connecting to the campus network. 

At Residential Facilities, we provide free menstrual products in all women's and gender-inclusive bathrooms located in the public areas of our residence halls. This includes main lobbies, women's and all-gender bathrooms linked to academic programs located in our buildings (like Living-Learning and Honors programs), as well as multi-purpose and meeting rooms outside the residential floors. Menstrual products are also available in the lobby bathrooms of South Campus Commons and Courtyards provided by Capstone On Campus Management.

Unlike academic and administrative buildings on campus, our residence halls are accessible only to students who live there, ensuring security. Students with academic programs in these buildings have access limited to their program areas.

The products are regularly restocked as part of our daily housekeeping activities.

In October 2022, the Residence Hall Association passed a resolution in support of the initiative. This initiative started in January 2024 and costs less than $5000 annually.
