Honoring Excellence: Housekeepers Recognized for Outstanding Service at University of Maryland

Housekeeping staff recognized by President Pines
Residential Facilities housekeepers recognized by President Darryll J. Pines, with Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo and Assistant Vice President Colleen Wright-Riva in attendance.

Six deserving housekeepers were honored on September 26, 2024, during the Appreciation Luncheon at the University House, University of Maryland. Rubia Martinez, Rose Etienne, Abigail Lopez, Magdala Bauge, Maria Lozano, and Rosalba Guillen were recognized alongside housekeepers from Facilities Management for their outstanding work ethic and service to students. They received certificates of appreciation from President Pines and enjoyed a special lunch in their honor. The event was attended by their supervisors, managers, department leadership, and other university leaders. Among the attendees were Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo and Assistant Vice President Colleen Wright-Riva, who applauded the honorees for their contributions to the university.

    "Rubia Martinez is a Lead Housekeeper who has worked for the Department of Residential Facilities for 12 years. She is always available to assist with after-hours emergencies, such as floods or emergency cleaning."
